Kona Pro Surf Contest

The Kona Pro Surf Contest was a success. On the 1st day of the event the weather was pretty bad. There were storms all over the state of Florida causing the event to go on hold until Friday. Friday morning the skies were clear and the weather was beautiful but now there was an entirely different situation causing the event to go on hold, no waves! The tide was high in the morning so they made another call at noon and decided to kick off the event in small but contestable surf.  The rest of the weekend was blessed with amazing weather and enough surf to finish the event. The women's division had a bunch of great surfers and despite the small surf we were still able to shine. Lindsey Baldwin of NSB won all 3 of her heats and took home $500.00. The waves were very difficult to surf due to lack of size, power, and form but she was able to get speed and do maneuvers. A great win for her :) Overall the contest was a lot of fun and there were a tun of great surfers doing their thing!
